Conceptual Architectural Renderings and Conceptual Designs
Genesis Studios often works with Architects, Developers, and Ad Agencies at the conceptual design phase of a project design.
Conceptual Architectural Renderings serve to express ideas even when engineering and structural analysis have not begun. Often time’s projects will not even address the final architecture until various themes have been explored through compositional sketches delving into the lifestyle and function of a development.
All of the architectural presentation services that Genesis Studios offers can be applied to schematic or sketch designs. There is sometimes a misconception that only loose forms of architectural delineation can be applied to conceptual designs.
We offer various levels of detail in our architectural rendering techniques to suit the visual character of a project. We can do loose study renderings in watercolor, pen & ink, pen & ink with water color or pen & ink with markers or markers alone. Sometimes we color our pen & ink drawings in the computer, using Photoshop (which allows for various color and mood effects to be generated from one inked drawing).
The appeal to an architect of having loose suggestive delineations is that the design is not nailed down and critiqued. The goal is to evoke the imagination of the viewer and let them fill in the story as they perceive it. Our artists are trained architects, adept at portraying the architectural vocabulary that is most appropriate to your project.
While we offer the various levels and rendering techniques mentioned above, it is often presumed that digital renderings and animations must be put off until a design is finalized or at least close to completion. That is not the case with Genesis Studios. With a vast library of architectural styles and elements and most importantly, experience, we can interpret the sketchiest designs and bring our client’s dreams to a visual reality!
In addition to illustrating conceptual designs, we can work on themed and entertainment orients projects. We are skilled at conveying special effects and elements that are associated with theme parks and international, cultural and/or historical themes.
A high percentage of the work seen on our website is conceptual in nature. Yet they appear too many to be built projects.
We leave the decision to our client as to whether they wish for their proposed project to be portrayed with a few lively splashes of color or with a highly defined photorealistic digital rendering or animation.

Architectural Animations 3d Animations

Genesis Studios works outside of the boundaries of typical computer animation norms. Genesis Studios prepares storyboards that ensure that the paths of the fly-throughs are never boring. The 3d animations do not just run a long course but have a variety of changes of direction and pans that retain the interest level of the viewer. We focus on the elements that capture the architectural characteristics of buildings as well as the spirit and feel of the lifestyle.

While there may be a presumption that the projects can only be visualized after all Architectural drawings are complete, that is not the case with Genesis Studios fly-bys. We can work from architectural sketches and a site plan to produce a video that looks convincingly real.
Genesis Studios accurately defines the materials to be depicted and their influences on each other. After all, imagery is about lighting. When light strikes a surface light bounces in infinitely different ways depending on the surfaces.
Through centuries, the work of artists was to guess and realistically depict these lighting conditions. Then computers were put to work and took this guesswork away. All of the lighting calculations are precisely accounted for and out comes the lighting that would be represented by a photograph, where the project already built.
But in the same way that we appreciate the interpretation of an artist painting on-scene so it is with architectural animations. Computers are our friends but they are not artists. Light is fluid. Once all of the accuracy of lighting and materials is in place, we artistically manipulate lighting effects to subtly or at times dramatically enhance the mood and focus of the architecture and lifestyle. Computers do not have judgment. Artists do. That is where the artistry of Genesis Studios comes in. A mood is created that a computer alone cannot achieve. Our clients may select still frames from our animations to be converted to digital still renderings. The quality of the still frames is of a very high level. We then enhance and render the frame to a high resolution. Because the digital stills are by-products of the animation process, there is a cost savings compared to digital stills done independent of computer animations.
In the same way that we buy into video documentaries as factual, so it is with architectural animations. The investor/consumer sees the project with people moving about and activity and lifestyle and they can imagine that they have experienced the vision and context of the computer animation project.

The softness of watercolor paintings leaves much to the imagination of the viewer. In a way it is like reading a book instead of seeing the movie after the book. If there are elements of design that are at the conceptual stage or if our client wants to present an artful image, our watercolor renderings evoke an emotional response from those taking in the imagery.
Behind the soft feel and artful blends of color is where Genesis Studios watercolor artist implement a meticulous pencil trace-down onto the watercolor paper. The trace-down is based on an accurately drawn perspective. The viewing angle is selected only after multiple views are considered with client participation.
During the watercolor process, our client may review updated scans to follow the course of the project. This allows our client to direct Genesis Studios as the job moves along.
Genesis Studios offers varying degrees of detail in our watercolor paintings. Often a client will select a loose style. The reason may be cost or deadline driven or just a preference to leave even more to the imagination. Genesis Studios has developed a special feature that allows for significant revisions even though the technique is watercolor.
In the end, we can provide a scan of the watercolor that will show well even if enlarged to multiple times the size of the original artwork.
