Opaque Architectural Renderings

The term “Opaque” implies that there is a fuller application of pigment as opposed to watercolor which is transparent. Opaque Architectural Rendering artists employ layers of paint by hand. This allows the artist to add as much detail to an Architectural Illustration as the client desires. Pure Watercolor Renderings require the discipline to “preserve” the white of the board to bring out detail. In an Opaque Illustration, the brightest colors can be applied over what is already painted.

Opaque Renderings

Within the complete range of Design Visualization styles offered by Genesis Studios Inc., Opaque Renderings are the most time consuming and thus most costly style. Our Hybrid Digital Renderings have many of the features of Opaque Illustrations yet they can be completed much more quickly and cost effectively. They have replaced the Opaque Renderings in popularity. Yet, if our client prefers a Traditional Rendering style, we can still provide the highest quality Opaque Architectural Renderings. Some Developers still demand the high level of artistry of 2D Opaque Renderings. The Government and Military often require this style of rendering due to the fact that it is such a literal translation of the intended design.

As with all of our other rendering techniques, we provide multiple computer wireframe views from which our client may select a view. We then present a full drawing of the intended composition which may be marked up to conform to our client’s intentions for their project.

To the greatest degree possible we wish to leave our client with “no surprises” when they view their final artwork.
